Drifter High Sierra Jazz's Drifter (July, 96 - August, 2006) GMPR, MH, All-Age Qualified Drifter Wins Colorado Women's Field Trial Open July 28-30, 2000 Drifter is a dark Chocolate Labrador, the son of AFC, CFC, CAFC Chugach Hills Jazz’s Rascal X Black Ruby Kiss. Both the male line (Jazztime) and the female line (Trieven) are black and have excellent field trial tradition. Drifter shows that same desire to run and retrieve. Early on he showed a natural tendency to point quail and pheasant. Since then he has developed that instinct into a staunch point over wild and released birds. He is currently an APLA Grand Master Pointing Retriever, which he has accomplished at the age of 27 months. Drifter received his AKC Master Hunter title one year later at the age of three and qualified for the ‘99 Master National, which he ran in and passed. In January of 2000 Drifter went to California to train under Kenny Trott and begin his field trial career. After only 3 month of training, he became All-Age Qualified. In his 2nd Open All-Age trial he placed 5th for a Reserve Jam. He followed that up two weeks later with a 3rd place Open finish to start earning points toward his FC title. Then, on July 30th, in only his 6th start, Drifter won his first Open field trial with 79 dogs running. Whatever the game: hunting, pointing, hunt test or field trials, Drifter is proving he can adjust and be an incredibly versatile Lab. No other Lab has earned titles as Grand Master Pointing Retriever, AKC Master Hunter, and Field Trial Winner. Drifter is 80 Ibs. and very athletic, ideal for upland hunting and trials. He loves the water and will retrieve all day. If your looking for talent, conformation, desire, marking ability, and a pedigree of great field trial dogs, Drifter is your choice for your next litter. Drifter past away while sleeping under his shade tree in August. He was a great family companion and his enthusiasm affected all he came in contact with. He will be missed in the field and at home. I have a few frozen semen straws available for approved bitches. Call (719) 574-9536 for additional information. |
